Description
In 1933, the Riverside State Park began because of the growing Spokane community. The Bowl and Pitcher in the park was one of the main areas in which the community lived and in turn is why the park began (Riverside State Park Foundation, 2010). Washington Water Power and President Franklin D. Roosevelt's establishment of The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) as part of the New Deal supported the city of Spokane and gave the community a chance to work and earn a living in an expanding community. In Riverside State Park, the CCC contained a base camp called Camp Seven Mile. The swinging bridge is a popular crossing for tourists and locals alike.
